 ​​Hi everyone, Alex here.
It’s been a while since my last blog post, huh?
​​​Thanks to Covid-19, I’m working from home these days.
I had a tonne of travel plans this year and I had to cancel them all – bummer!
But the worst part is that a lack of Eisa training and a surplus of pizza has made me fat…
Well, I’m training again now, so the rehabilitation has begun.

こんにちは、アレックスです。
前回のブログ投稿から久しぶりですね。
新型コロナウィルスのおかげで最近は自宅で仕事をしています。
今年はたくさんの旅行プランがあったのにすべてキャンセルしなければなりませんでした。
さらに最悪なのはエイサーの練習が無くなったのと沢山のピザが私を太らせたということ…
いまは練習再開しているので、私の体型リハビリが始まりました。

沖縄が好き

​​Although I’ve never lived there, I have an interest in Okinawan things.
I love the songs and the dances, the food and the sake, the greenery and the sea, the culture, and most of all the people.
​​There’s a lot to like! But let me introduce one in particular: it’s a song called “zawawa”… or is it “satoukibi batake”?

そこに住んだことはありませんが、沖縄のものが好きです。
私は歌と踊り、食べ物と酒、緑と海、文化、そして何よりも人々を愛しています。
好きなことがたくさんあります！
でも特に紹介させていただきますが、「ざわわ」という曲なのか…それとも「さとうきび畑」なのか？

さとうきび畑の唄

Recently Shoryu appeared on TV alongside Chuning Candy, and I was excited to find that Moriyama Ryoko would also be singing in the same programme! (She didn’t sing “zawawa” though… too bad!)
​​There’s also a film called “satoukibi batake”, which I can recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it.
It’s set during the Battle of Okinawa.
I think the father character, in particular, is super.
Even while the world around him goes crazy, he remembers what’s important: family, happiness, kindness, laughter.
It’s a very moving film – I may have shed a tear or two.

最近、昇龍もChuning Candyと一緒にテレビに出演していて、森山良子さんも同じ番組で歌っていることに興奮しました！ （彼女は「ざわわ」を歌わなかったけど…残念！）
「さとうきび畑の唄」という映画もあります。
見たことのない人にもおすすめです。
沖縄の戦いの舞台です。
特にお父さんキャラがすごいと思います。
彼の周りの世界が狂っていても、彼は家族、幸せ、親切、笑いなどの重要なことを覚えています。
非常に感動的な映画です。
私は泣いたかもしれません。
