今日は約1ヶ月振りの「勝手にメンバー紹介」

前回は、名鏡さんからアレックスを紹介してもらいましたが、、、

今回はアレックスから三井くんの紹介です。

今回、英文の和訳はメイン名鏡＆アシスト野澤の広報部コンビにお願いしました♪

それにしても、、、アレックスの画像チョイスが面白い(笑)

 

Mitsui-kun

Today I’ll introduce another one of Shoryu’s novices: it’s Mitsui-kun. Meikyō-san and I joined Shoryu at around the same time, years and years ago; Mitsui-kun, on the other hand, joined only this year. His rate of improvement has been extremely fast, though, and it wasn’t long before he was the one teaching me! He’s also an extremely useful man to have around – more on that later.

Mitsui-kun’s Shoryu story starts with the Molé Shisas;he performed pāranku with them for a few years. I met him for the first time at Pizza Salvatore – it was Mizuno-san’s birthday, I think – and he told me that he was planning to join Shoryu.

So what is his secret to improving so fast? Hard work! Mitsui-kun lives and works near the studio, and he goes there almost every day after work. That’s the kind of dedication it takes to become good! He’s still a novice like me, but I predict it won’t be too long before he passes the exams and becomes a regular member.

～三井くん～

今日は新人メンバーの一人、三井くんを紹介します。名鏡さんと私は何年も前、同じ時期に昇龍に入りましたが、三井くんはこの一年で入ったばかりです。彼の上達速度はとても速いのですが、私に教えてくれるようにもなったのです！ 彼は非常に多才な人ですが、それは後ほど詳しく。

三井くんの昇龍物語は「もーれシーサーズ」から始まります。一般メンバーとしてパーランクーで演舞していたのです。初めて彼に会ったのは、水野さんの誕生日、ピッツァ・サルヴァトーレだったと思いますが、そこで彼は昇龍に入るつもりだと教えてくれました。

彼がこんなにも早く上達する秘訣は何なのでしょう？ずばり、ハードワークです！三井くんは住むのも、働くのもスタジオの近くで、ほとんど毎日仕事後にスタジオに行っています。献身的ともいえる姿勢で、どんどん上達しているのです。今はまだ同じ新人メンバーですが、彼がテストに合格してレギュラーメンバーになるのはそう遠くないはずです。

 

A useful man to have around

The other week we built the onkyo cart for the Asakusa Beat Festa parade. It was a lot of fun, and as always with Shoryu, a real DIY experience. I, of course, had no idea what I was doing, and looked fairly inept as I failed to simultaneously climb a ladder and operate a screwdriver. This was in stark contrast with Mitsui-kun, who knew exactly what he was doing.

We have a bus. Mitsui-kun has a licence to drive a bus. This is extremely useful! On our recent trip to Okinawa, Mitsui-kun saw a fair share the driving time. Otsukaresama desu!

In the past, all our music was on minidisks. Mitsui-kun brought our audio setup into the 21st century by loading everything onto an iPad, including training videos for all our routines. Mizuno-san and I still have trouble operating the equipment sometimes, but Mitsu-kun can get it working.

Finally, since he was formerly a Molé Shisa, he can also do pāranku in a pinch. More than once this summer, Mitsui-kun stepped in to help his former teammates.

Some people are just handy to have around.

～多才な人～

先日、浅草ビートエイサーフェスティバルに向け、音響カーを組み立てていたときのことです。いつものように昇龍でＤＩＹを経験できるのはとても面白かったです。私はもちろん、自分が何をしているのか分からず、梯子に登ってインパクトを扱うのにも失敗しますし、かなり不慣れです。三井くんはそんな私とは対照的に、何をしているか完璧に理解していました。

昇龍にはバスがあります。三井くんはバスを運転できる免許を持っています。それが本当にとても貴重です！最近の沖縄遠征では、三井くんはかなりの割合で運転をしていました。オツカレサマデス！！

かつての昇龍では、曲目は全てＭＤやＣＤが主流でした。三井くんはiPadに演舞動画を含めた全ての音源を落とし、スタジオに21世紀の音響設備をもたらしてくれました。水野さんも私もまだ時々、その音響操作でトラブルに見舞われますが、三井くんはうまく操作してくれます。

おまけに、彼は以前夏季一般メンバーだったので、パーランクーの演舞ができます。この夏何度か、助っ人として「もーれシーサーズ」で演舞に加わりました。

いろんなことで役に立てる人っていますよね。

 

But what is he like?

I already said that he’s hard-working, but he’s also a gentle soul. He has his sense of duty, and always makes himself useful; but he’s not overly severe with lazy people like me! Perfect!

Like most of us, Eisa isn’t the only aspect of Okinawan culture that Mitsui-kun is interested in. He can play the sanshin very well, and sometimes he gives lessons to other Shoryu members. He’s an awamori connoisseur.

While writing this I tried to think of an embarrassing story to tell about Mitsui-kun, but I just couldn’t think of any. Damn! Some people just don’t do anything wrong.

～彼はどんな人？～

彼がハードワーカーなのは先ほど紹介しましたが、彼は優しい心も持っています。義務感もあるので、いつも団体の役に立っています。私のような怠け者にも厳しすぎません！完璧！

ほとんどのメンバーもそうですが、三井くんもエイサーだけでなく、さまざまな沖縄の文化に興味をもっています。彼は三線をとても上手に弾けますし、ときどき他のメンバーにも教えています。さらに、「泡盛の会」のメンバーでもあります。

この記事を書いていて、三井くんの恥ずかしいエピソードを思い出そうと必死だったのですが、何も思いつきませんでした。チッ！三井さんみたいに、特に何も失敗したことがない人もいるよね。
